SIXTH EXPLORATORY ART
Course Description: This is a nine weeks course in which sixth grade students are introduced to creative expression through the use of hands-on activities that incorporate the use of the elements of art and the principles of design. They are exposed to a variety of techniques, media, and major artists.

SEVENTH AND EIGHTH VISUAL ART
Course Description: This year course provides studio experiences in applications of the elements and principles of art. Students draw, paint, and create three-dimensional projects with confidence and skill. The hands-on learning experiences allow for creative expression while incorporating varieties of media, artistic styles, and historical periods. Students learn to describe, analyze, interpret and judge contemporary works of art, while comparing and contrasting them with classic pieces.
