Course Description: Tutorial Lab is a course in which students with special needs may enroll. The course is designed to help those students who need more detailed explanations or help on assignments, extra time to complete assignments, tests read orally, and/or help with studying for tests. Time is also spent on individual goals and objectives taken from each student’s Individualized Education Program (IEP). Areas addressed include acquiring information, expressing information, student responsibility, and mobility. Tutorial Lab is limited to10 students per class period. The classroom is open at all times to students on IEP’s from other classes who need tests read orally, tests modified, and/or help with daily assignments. The Tutorial teacher is available during the day for at least one class period for team teaching/ inclusionary practices to ensure the least restrictive environment for each student with special needs. This time is scheduled weekly. The objectives of this class are derived from objectives of each IEP and pass skills from the courses in which the students are enrolled.
