SPECIAL ANNOUNCEMENTS!
                BENCHMARK TESTING INFORMATION
                             FOR PARENTS & STUDENTS

1.  Benchmark Test - Measurement of knowledge at a certain point in time in an effort        to improve CRT scores.
2.  Benchmark tests will be given at the end of the:
     a.  First Quarter
     b.  First Semester
     c.  Third Quarter
     The tests will be used to measure student progress in preparing for the CRT's in              April 2008.
3.  Test dates for 1st Semester benchmarks are December 20 & 21, 2007.
4.  Reward date for passing all of the 1st semester benchmark tests is
     January 10, 2008.  The reward is  attendance at WMS 8th grade
     basketball tournament game.  Students who do not earn the reward will
     remain in class to correct benchmark test mistakes and review the
     related material.
5.  A student must score 60% or higher on each benchmark test to
     qualify for the reward.  The student must pass a benchmark test (60% or higher)
     in each of the core subject areas listed below to earn the reward.
6.  Core subject areas are as follows:

7.  Additionally, all benchmark tests will be recorded as a semester  test grade.


End of Instruction Exams & High School Diploma
:  Freshman entering 9th grade in 2008-2009 school year, will be required to pass 4 end-of-instruction assesments:
  • Algebra I
  • English II
and any two additional assessments from below:
  • U.S. History
  • Biology i
  • Algebra II
  • Geometry
  • English III
