I am pleased that your adolescent chose to take this class.  There is a $15 fee for 7/8 Art or they may purchase the supplies on the list that was sent home. There is a $3 fee for sixth grade Exploratory.  The fee helps cover the cost of consumable materials used for some of the projects and an art sketchbook for 7/8th Art.    We begin working in the sketchbooks almost immediately.  The fee needs to be paid as soon as possible or the supplies purchased. Please contact me if the fee presents a problem. Students take home all art completed during the school year.  They also need several #2 graphite drawing pencils, a pink pearl eraser or a click eraser and a kneaded eraser. The pencils, pink pearl and kneaded erasers can be purchsed through me or at Ratcliff's Book Store. Click erasers can be purchased at Wal-Mart.

Rules and regulations outlined in the student handbook will be strictly enforced.  Students are expected to show respect for themselves, for others and to take responsibility for their actions.  Middle school students are mature enough to understand the proper behavior expected of them.

Minor discipline problems will be handled in the classroom. I will make the decision concerning the action needed to correct the problem.

Disciplinary actions for my classroom are as follows:

1. Verbal warning
2. Teacher/student conference
3. Detention with me before school (8:00-8:20), or after school (3:25-3:45).
4. Office referral
5. Parent contact

Depending on the severity of the offense, the order of actions may be changed at my discretion.
